Pilgrimage Chaplain

Fr. Ramesh Lodi is Parochial Vicar of St. Pius X Parish in San Antonio, Texas.

He shares:

My faith is so strong, and I am a priest because of my parents' faith and their exemplary life and prayers. I had my call from the Lord when I was 10 years old. I grew up with many Hindu friends and Muslim friends, and (as a youth) I studied in a school run by Hindu institutes, where my education was mostly about the religion; learning about Bagavat Gita, Ramayana etc. But amidst of all these God still called me.

My dad's exemplary life and my parish priest set a beautiful role model for me to be a priest. I went to seminary at the age of 15 and became a priest at 27. I worked as an assistant for two years, then as a pastor for eight years in two different parishes. Then, God called me to come to San Antonio to serve. I said 'yes' and am happy to be with loving people.

Father Ramesh looks forward to offering spiritual meditations and presiding at daily Mass during the pilgrimage, as well as offering the Sacrament of Reconciliation for pilgrims who wish to receive it.

Outstanding Group Leaders

Your Pilgrimage Group Leaders are Deacon Ken and Kathy Gottardy. They are parishioners of The Shrine of St. Padre Pio, where Deacon Ken Gottardy has been assigned since 2016. Deacon Ken and Kathy are active in faith formation through ACTS retreats, as well as preparing and instructing individuals and families for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Matrimony. They are also involved in several marriage enrichment programs including the Re- Engaged Marriage program that they helped to form as well as lead, and Lovestrong Marriage Retreats where they are currently Marriage Spiritual Mentors.

Deacon Ken and Kathy experienced their first pilgrimage with Pilgrim Center of Hope to the Holy Land in 2019, which deepened their relationship with Christ. They noticed that Pilgrim Center of Hope made a firm distinction between a pilgrimage and a tour; emphasizing the importance of experiencing the sites and listening to where God is leading pilgrims during the journey. Since then, they have experienced 2 Italy Pilgrimages and Kathy also a Marian Pilgrimage with Pilgrim Center of Hope, and have become official Pilgrim Center of Hope Group Leaders.

Pilgrim Center of Hope will provide pre-pilgrimage preparation, and Deacon Ken and Kathy will journey with you through the entire pilgrimage; ensuring that your journey is a once-in-a- lifetime experience.
