Dr. Gabriel Said Reynolds specializes in the Qur’ān and Muslim/Christian relations. He is Professor of Islamic Studies and Theology at the University of Notre Dame where he teaches courses on theology, Muslim/Christian Relations, and Islamic Origins. He has also taught specialized courses internationally, including an intensive version of “Holy Land” at Notre Dame’s Tantur Ecumenical Institute in Jerusalem.
He has authored and edited a number of works, including The Qur’ān and Its Biblical Subtext and The Emergence of Islam. Dr. Reynolds’ media appearances have included Vatican Radio, EWTN Radio, National Public Radio, PBS, and New York Times.
Dr. Reynolds co-organized, along with Dr. Mehdi Azaiez, “The Qurʾān Seminar,” a year-long collaborative project dedicated to encouraging dialogue among scholars of the Qurʾān, as well as "The Symposium on the Qurʾān and Catholic Theology.” His research and lectures have spanned cities throughout the Middle East, including Jerusalem, Ankara, Beirut, Cairo, Damascus, and Tehran.
