2024 Summary

2024 Summary

Pilgrim Center of Hope (PCH)’s annual Catholic Women’s Conference sold out at 750 women, filling Norris Conference Center in San Antonio plus nearly 50 virtual participants—several watching from El Paso, TX). All received encouraging messages about their dignity and God’s love on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

Many attendees expressed their appreciation for the presence of Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller at the morning Mass, and his message about women’s unique dignity and call to holiness. He encouraged all to connect with PCH.

Speaker Dr. Carron Silva shared her experience under South African apartheid, as well as her wisdom and direction as a life coach. After hearing her speak, one attendee reflected, “I want to be a good parent, but generational trauma has hurt me... I found it profoundly powerful to know that forgiveness is ‘iterative’ and not a ‘one and done.’”

Visiting speakers also included educational psychologist and author Dr. MaryRuth Hackett. From her, attendee Carmen said she learned “how to better prepare living my life as God’s daughter.” Another attendee, Eva, was encouraged; “We don’t have to have all the answers.  Pray and trust and let our Heavenly Father take over.”

Still moved by his time at the National Eucharistic Congress the prior weekend, National Eucharistic Preacher Fr. Timothy Anastos provided two presentations and led a Eucharistic Healing Service at the end of the event, which greatly impacted those present. Attendee Jennifer was among those; saying, “I want to attend more adoration sessions near my house. I want to spend more time with our Lord.”

The Sacrament of Reconciliation was available during the event, as well as a quiet nearby Prayer Room with the Blessed Sacrament. Ministries and vendors supported the experience of attendees seeking ways to deepen and share their faith.

Women continue to tell us that they found life-changing healing and spiritual renewal, with nearly all of them reporting that they have plan to invest more in their daily spiritual life, including Eucharistic adoration and silent prayer. Several others said they plan to continue their journey of healing from interior wounds.

THANK YOU! Pilgrim Center of Hope is deeply grateful to each person who contributed time, talent, and treasure toward this spiritual success. As this conference continues to grow, costs for venue and other expenses grow exponentially. We rely on your financial support and prayers to continue serving this fruitful mission for women and their families.
