Pray in Gethsemane Chapel

Pray in Gethsemane Chapel

Gethsemane Chapel is named for the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus as well as our founders prayed for God's will in their lives. You are invited to do the same.

This humble chapel is home to Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. The Tabernacle doors normally remain closed, but rest assured that Jesus is present and ready to spend time with you here.

  • Stations of the Cross line the walls, containing small fragments of each Station in Jerusalem along the Via Dolorosa where Christ carried the Cross.
  • Replica of St. Juan Diego's tilma, the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, is located to the right
  • Stone from Monte Sant'Angelo, where St. Michael the Archangel appeared, is located near Our Lady of Guadalupe's image
  • Bronze sculpture, The Man of the Shroud by Luigi E. Mattei, located to the right: This rare item is part of our Who Is the Man of the Shroud? exhibition.

How to Join Us In Prayer

  • 3:00 pm (during office hours): Join us to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Pamphlets are located in the pews to follow along.
  • Prayer Intentions basket in front of altar: You are welcome to place your intentions here. (Paper & pens to use are available at chapel entrance.)
  • Faithful Departed basket near St. Joseph & Christ Child statue: Place the names of the deceased here, where a perpetual candle burns as a sign of our prayer for their eternal rest. Saint Joseph is the patron of a happy death.

Gethsemane Chapel seats 35 persons. A small sacristy is adjacent; liturgical items are available for use upon request for small groups who schedule an event at Pilgrim Center of Hope.
