We welcome individuals who desire to serve as volunteer exhibition guides for the Who is the Man of the Shroud? Exhibition permanently on display at Pilgrim Center of Hope.
These guides, called Shroud Ambassadors, welcome visitors, explain how the exhibition is to be experienced, and remain present for any questions about the exhibition.
Shroud Ambassadors do not need to be experts on the Shroud of Turin. Training is provided to learn how best to assist visitors.
About Us
Made up of a small staff, small budget, and hundreds of volunteers, benefactors, and prayer intercessors, Pilgrim Center of Hope is answering Christ’s call as we fulfill our mission of guiding people to encounter him so as to live in hope in daily life. Pilgrim Center of Hope, founded in 1993, is a Catholic evangelization ministry reaching many individuals, households, communities in various U.S. States and over 45 countries with the message of God’s mercy and hope. We do this through conferences, media productions, presentation in churches & various organizations, pilgrimages and our Shroud exhibition.
PCH is a non-profit ministry; we are sustained by donations from generous individuals and organizations.

James KellerAfter exploring a potential call to the priesthood, James joined the Peace Corps in Honduras following his graduation from Jesuit Creighton University. In Honduras, he met a fellow volunteer, his now-wife, Betty. Returning to San Antonio, they responded to their pastor's invitation at St. Luke Parish to serve as missionaries. They were sent to Mexico. James and Betty, along with their five-year-old daughter, were accepted as Maryknoll Lay Missioners in 1989. Their two sons were born during that time in Mexico. James's mission work included small community prayer and action groups, and construction with rural organizations. Since returning home, they continue as St. Luke parishioners, now as grandparents.
"Since first learning about the Shroud long ago, I've closely followed the unfolding scientific studies and controversy surrounding it, and for years I thought of it as a relic or holy artifact somehow miraculously given to us by God. More recently, as a Shroud Ambassador, I am blessed to more spiritually appreciate the Shroud, especially its striking revelation of the full power of the Incarnation of Jesus Christ."
