Monte Sant’ Angelo – One of Italy’s Holiest Places
Come along with Deacon Tom & Mary Jane Fox to St. Michael’s Cave, located on the eastern coast of Italy. It was here that St. Michael the Archangel appeared to the bishop of the diocese three times. The Foxes will tell you about how St. Michael consecrated the cave, saying men’s sins would be pardoned here.
Hear about how the cave was often visited by St. Padre Pio. It was also a favorite destination of other saints and several Popes. You will also find out about how the Monte Sant’ Angelo was first discovered by a nobleman in search of a lost prized bull in the year 490.
Prayer to St. Michael
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
