“I’m not a saint!”

“I’m not a saint!”

Let’s understand what it means “to be a saint.” So often this term is thrown around in times of comparison, disagreements, and when talking about someone who is perceived as “perfect”. Reality check: not even saints were perfect! In fact, many saints had their own struggles like each and every one of us. The only thing they may have done differently is, intentionally and wholeheartedly,  trusted every inch of their life to God.

Finding Happiness vs. Finding Joy

Finding Happiness vs. Finding Joy

Have you ever heard of the saying, “happiness is temporary, joy is forever”? It is a comment much easier said than done. Our society is obsessed with the idea of self-care, and rightfully so. We should take care of our person beyond the facials, manicures, lashes, hair appointments, and wine nights with our closest friends. Joy can only be found once we accept the reality that our true happiness is not found through external pleasures, but through internal self-care where we become one with the person God intended us to be.

Selfless Love

Selfless Love

Love should not be as complicated as our society portrays it to be, especially if it’s a calling for each one of us-married or not. Selfless love is a virtue that is not embedded within us, selfish love on the other hand might be part of our human nature, but we are called to much greater heights. How can we love selflessly?

Soul Searching and Finding Your Soul Purpose

Soul Searching and Finding Your Soul Purpose

It is known that we are both body and soul, earthly and heavenly, man-made and made in God’s image.  How is it that we are made in God’s image, yet so many times I look at myself in the mirror and want to change every inch of me? How is it that I am supposed to love my neighbor as myself, yet I can’t love myself?

It is in being introduced to our soul – the truest version of ourselves and that which is most in God’s image – that we can begin to 1) comprehend the image of God we are made in, 2) love and embrace the uniqueness of ourselves, 3) live out our soul purpose, and 4) encourage others to meet, embrace, and love their soul (cf. Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 363).

Dominique Dominguez

Dominique Dominguez is a cradle Catholic from San Antonio, Texas. In 2015, she began to develop a relationship with Christ and has since enjoyed the journey of being a Christian Catholic. Dominique’s relationship started when she asked God to let her know that He, despite all her sinfulness, still loved her. What He gave her and gives all of us is the belief that “We are more precious than corals, and no treasure can compare with [us]” (Proverbs 3:15).

In 2019, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology with a Minor in Communications. After World Youth Day 2016 in Poland, she knew God was calling her to serve the youth – and so she has. Dominique has played the role of youth minister, CYO coach, and Faith Formation teacher. Currently, Dominique is a motivational speaker, podcaster, social media influencer, and founder of Soul Sharing 101 – a platform she uses to interview unique people to share with the world, while also encouraging others to live the life God has called them to live through adequate discernment.

Dominique is passionate about loving her neighbors as herself and sharing the good news of God’s love. As a young adult trying to actively spread the faith, Dominique has discerned that God is calling her to utilize her gifts of speaking, her education, and today’s technological realm to continue the mission of spreading His love.
