We published 72 blogs, articles, columns and secular newspaper briefs. In 2022, Pilgrim Center of Hope produced and published two video episodes of our Who Is the Man of the Shroud series and completed production work towards many more future episodes. An experienced filmmaker who is on our crew, a young man, has told us that this project has impacted him, how he has been impressed and touched by the high-quality content of the episodes, and has praised PCH's professionalism and vision. In 2022, Pilgrim Center of Hope provided speakers for events spanning the North, South, East, and West sides of the Archdiocese of San Antonio in both rural and urban parishes! Audiences ranged from youth to elderly, and included an event for married couples. We also served other events including a retreat in the Archdiocese of Galveston- Houston, and the Diocese of Helena Montana Catholic Women’s Conference. Over 987 individuals were given hope by our speaker team 2022 presentations. Two Stories from One Event: An elderly woman was compelled to leave her home for the first time in three years October 2022 when she heard about a local presentation on The Saints, Our Friends In Heaven by a PCH speaker. After the event, she expressed that she was so excited to be back at church after so long. Also present at the event was a woman who had recently returned to Church after being away from the practice of faith for over 40 years. She said that she was inspired by what she learned, and was looking forward to learning more on her own about the saints.
The Catholic Womens Conference taught, encouraged, and challenged 644 women in 2022. An anonymous participant said Its such a beautiful experience with so many women of faith. I feel renewed and my faith in God has grown stronger. Josie from the South Side of San Antonio said I experienced a positive, loving fellowship with strong females, women of faith, women of courage, prayer warriors! One Story of Giving Back: In July, we received a phone call from a woman who had attended the CWC three years ago, when she had been experiencing a very low time in her life. One of her friends had paid for her registration, and she attended. She described leaving the event renewed and encouraged. Now, she is unable to attend CWC since she has moved away from San Antonio. However, because the CWC made such a difference in her life, she was calling us to sponsor two registrations so that other women who might be in need of hope just like she had been, could also attend the conference. Several women participated in the 2022 conference virtually from the DHanis Hondo area in Medina County Texas. The Catholic Mens Conference taught, encouraged, and challenged 171 men. An anonymous attendee said I needed this. As a father of three young kids, I dont get much time alone to enrich my spiritual life. Thankfully I took full advantage of the opportunity to spend time with God. Another man said Men and boys are lost in todays culture, and these gatherings help reinforce our true identity and role as fathers and husbands.
In 2022 the fruit borne by pilgrimages included pilgrims starting faith initiatives in their parish communities. Susan said the pilgrimage drew me closer to God and made my commitment to him even stronger. The Gospels came alive. Christopher said This pilgrimage truly helps to see where Jesus lived and taught. And to see what he endured to redeem us from our sins and to open the gates to heaven. Paige said I have a better understanding of the Communion of Saints. We have such powerful intercessors on our side. Mary and David said It is continuing to touch our lives even after our return. Our groups were ambassadors of Christ, sharing the joy of Gods love with people whom we met on our journeys. Thanks to our direct support our annual fundraiser Rejoice in Hope raised 100 percent of the event goal. This was the good seed that helped us move confidently into 2022. In 2022 we added an Advisory Board in addition to our existing Board of Directors. We also added 2 new air conditioning units and a new water heater. Pilgrim Center of Hope is thrilled to have had a 200 percent increase in Donor Advised Fund and a 300 percent increase in Qualified Charitable Distributions in the past year. Thank you! This greatly benefited PCH while allowing a tax deduction for our donors! Visit our website for more information or call us to see how you might do this in 2023.
