Catholic Men's Conference

840 Men Transformed

SAN ANTONIO – On Saturday, February 23, 840 “men of hope” came forth like Bartimaeus, who cried out to Jesus, Master, I want to see (cf. Mark 10: 51) for the annual Catholic Men’s Conference (CMC) of San Antonio. Pilgrim Center of Hope has been presenting CMC since 2004. The vast majority of these men came from parishes throughout the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

CMC 2019 was a Spirit-filled day marked by an enthusiastic demonstration of faith by husbands, fathers & sons, friends, and leaders. All were educated and challenged by speakers Dr. Ralph Martin, Fr. Larry Richards, and Fr. Ken Geraci, CPM. the crowd celebrated Mass with Bishop Michael Boulette, prayed together (Rosary & Divine Mercy Chaplet), and gathered in small groups in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, as part of our Eucharistic Healing Service led by Fr. Ken Geraci, CPM.

Men told us:

  • “Healing Service was great & very powerful” – Matthew Laijas, St. Anthony Elmendorf, TX
  • “Inspiring talks touched the core of my heart” – Emmanuel Odin, St Joseph Del Rio, TX
  • “Good to see so many men adoring Jesus” – Mario Hernandez, St. Anthony Robstown, TX
  • “This conference was spiritually uplifting” – Steve Navarro, St. Anthony Mary Claret SA, TX
  • One wife said, “My husband came home on fire (Holy Spirit).”

CMC 2019 – At a Glance

  • A tremendous response to Reconciliation (Over 20 Confessors were available t/o the day)
  • Powerful Eucharistic Healing Service (Over 700 men came forward in groups of 10-15)
  • All men received spiritual tools & resources about our faith and Church (provided by PCH)
  • Brisk sales of resources on prayer, Scripture, sin & repentance, and growing in faith

At the heart of Pilgrim Center of Hope’s Ministry of Conferences is the mission of providing an experience where all can learn about their true personal dignity in God, encounter Christ and the Church and be encouraged to know and love God, so as to go forth inspired and empowered, using their gifts to transform their families, parish, and society.

Men’s Conference A Spiritual Success!

SAN ANTONIO – More than 900 men attended Pilgrim Center of Hope’s twelfth annual Catholic Men’s Conference, “Master, I Want to See,” on March 18, 2017 at St. Mary’s University. Beginning with a preparatory Night with the Lord event on March 17 in Bill Greehey Arena, and continuing through Saturday afternoon, volunteers tallied 412 attendees as having participated in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Attendees came from across Texas, with a handful traveling in from outside the state. Many registered together as groups, with the largest group of 92 men representing Sacred Heart parish in Uvalde, Texas, a faith community comprised of 600 families. Attendance was also high among area Knights of Columbus, with 294 Knights in attendance, 40 of whom participated in their full Color Corps Regalia. These served at the Opening Ceremony, Sacrament of Reconciliation, Eucharistic Adoration, and during Mass with Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller, MSpS.

Knights were particularly interested in this year’s event due to the presence of their Supreme Knight, Carl A. Anderson, who gave the final presentation, and afterward, personally addressed several questions from event attendees about the role of men and the Church in society today. Anderson was also present outside the arena for the official blessing of a sonogram van by Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller. Funds for the van were raised by local Knights for use by A Woman’s Haven pregnancy center.

Other speakers who inspired, encouraged, and challenged participants were Fr. Leo Patalinghug, Fr. Clay Hunt, and Robert Rogers. Participants enjoyed music by local ministry Faith Rendered, as well as opportunities to connect with Catholic vendors and ministry exhibitors.

Pilgrim Center of Hope founded this annual conference in 2004, following the success of its women’s conference. The mission of its men’s conference is to promote a deeper understanding of man’s dignity as being created in the image and likeness of God, and to provide direction and resources to help men transform themselves, their families and society.

Pending confirmation, men can pencil in March 17, 2018 for the next men’s conference. Registration is expected to open by Winter 2017. Sign up for email updates and learn about how Pilgrim Center of Hope guides people to personally encounter Christ at

2016 Catholic Men’s Conference summary

During the very first week of Lent, our annual Catholic Men’s Conference (CMC) was a spiritual success with 800+ men in attendance. Photos are now online. This year, we had an “Evening with the Lord” Friday before the conference, to give men a chance to go to Confession and spend time in Adoration. We think this will be a good plan for our future conferences.

The theme of the CMC—”Master, I want to see”—acknowledges our need to grow in faith so that we can discover God’s plan, which brings us great happiness. Archbishop Gustavo echoed this as he called the participants to be Men of Courage!

We continue to receive CMC evaluation forms containing extraordinary remarks about how the Conference is impacting men and their families! This event was a success because of your prayers, the dedication of the CMC Steering Committee and our “partners”; the volunteers who made a commitment to do what needed to be done. Thank you.

One of the resources given to every man who attended is a book especially for men written by Deacon Tom: Son of Man to Man. This book is now on sale for $9.95. Call the Pilgrim Center of Hope to order your copies: (210) 521-3377.

This year, we had one of our highest-rated speaker lineups, including Fr. Donald Calloway, Fr. Clay Hunt, and Jon Leonetti. The speakers’ powerful presentations can be ordered on CD or MP3. Download the Order Form from our website.
