Our journey this week is one to the heart, it will certainly be one-of-a-kind! We are overjoyed to offer you an opportunity to receive spiritual direction that will touch your hearts. It will be a journey providing you with spiritual insights as we share a talk that was presented by Bishop Gary Janak, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, Texas, at an annual Catholic Men’s Conference in San Antonio, Texas. As an added bonus, Mary Jane Fox will offer a reflection on this important topic as well!

Most Rev. Gary Janak

Auxiliary Bishop, San Antonio

Bishop Janak was ordained Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of San Antonio on April 20, 2021. He was raised in Palacios, a multi-lingual and multi-ethnic community.

In 1983 he received his bachelor’s degree in History and began at Assumption Seminary in 1984. He obtained his Master of Divinity Degree from Oblate School of Theology in 1988. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Victoria on May 14, 1988.

He earned a Licentiate in Canonical Jurisprudence (JCL) from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., in 1995; his master’s degree in Counseling in 1997, and has been licensed by the state of Texas as a professional counselor supervisor since 2000.

His hobbies include reading about spirituality, marriage enrichment and psychology; writing; running; biking; and paddle boarding.
